MEET THE TEAM

On behalf of USTDA, The Webster Group has been hired to arrange and manage the logistics and technical program of this event.  The following members of The Webster Group team are supporting this effort:


Wendy Drake

Wendy Drake is the President and CEO of The Webster Group. She brings to her role more than 20 years’ experience working in fundraising, event management and production with government agencies, corporations, and non-profit organizations.  She oversees more than 30 events each year, which have ranged in size from 10 to 43,000 participants. These events include reverse trade missions, multi-day conferences and conventions, dedication and commissioning ceremonies, galas, and concerts. She has worked with the U.S. Departments of State, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; the U.S. Agency for International Development; the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; the U.S. Coast Guard, USTDA, and numerous non-profits and corporations. She has worked with her team to complete multiple USTDA reverse trade missions, workshops, and conferences.



Phil Hargis

Phil Hargis, CMP, CGMP, is the Vice President of Global Events with The Webster Group. He has over 25 years of experience in managing multiple programs and contracts of all sizes for a variety of clients. His event and project management portfolio of experience includes: The U.S. Trade and Development Agency, Association of Public Health Laboratories, U.S. Department of State, Missile Defense Agency, Washington Headquarters Services, Department of the Navy, and Federal Bureau of Investigation.  He has led all aspects of USTDA reverse trade missions, workshops, and conferences for the past nine years.  He has managed or been involved planning over 50 USTDA events during this time.



Jeffrey Gren

Jeffrey Gren is an international health industry specialist with vast medical devices, pharmaceuticals, health IT, and healthcare infrastructure experience. He is President of Gren International Health & Trade Consulting, LLC and since 2014 has performed consulting services for numerous health industry clients. He retired from a career in the U.S. government where he served as Director of several offices covering health industries at the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) from 1976 - 2014. As a DOC Office Director, he led numerous health trade and policy missions to China, Russia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. He supervised medical devices, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, health IT, healthcare infrastructure trade policy, and research activities. In addition, he established and led the China-U.S. JCCT Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals Subgroup (1996-2014). 

As an Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global) Treasury and Board Member, he leads ASOP Global’s China, India, Brazil, Mexico and APEC activities. ASOP Global has had significant international accomplishments under his leadership. He has also worked for the past 25 years on global health regulatory harmonization, safe medicines, and combating the spread of substandard and falsified medicines. He has worked with international health regulators involved in international activities, such as APEC’s Life Science Innovation Forum, the medical devices Global Harmonization Working Group (GHWP), and the International Medical Devices Regulators Forum (IMDRF). 

He has also served as an industry expert for seven USTDA reverse trade missions, from China, Turkey, Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya, and South Africa. He has been a frequent expert speaker at global safe medicine and medical device international conferences such as the Global Forum on Access to Safe Medicines, the Medicrime Convention, ASEAN pharmaceutical, and medical devices workshops. He was the lead author for the APEC Anti-counterfeit Medicines Action Plan and the APEC Supply Chain Medical Product Internet Sales Toolkit. He received a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston. He has received numerous U.S. Department of Commerce, industry association, and international organization medals and awards.
